The All Aboard, November 21, 1990 (1st set)

This wasn't the first thing I wanted to post, but alas, this is the best transfer I've done so far. It's a weird gig! But good! I think this is the first time we played The All Aboard in Port Jefferson, trading sets with the Skels. If I'm right, I can attest that I, at least, was very nervous.  Last time we had played a local dive was four years earlier at Jerry's Place in Rocky Point (Ted's father's bar) and I know it traumatized me!  So, probably fear-of-townies is why we do a cover second song in, have a couple of near train-wrecks, and why I'm taking the gig at a breakneck pace! On the other hand, that's the way I usually played back then! There's lots of mistakes, I wouldn't say this is one of our best shows......there's some annoying crowd noises in the quieter parts, you can even hear a PZM rattling a couple of times.....these aren't definitive versions, for the most part.  But still!  There's some great playing!  (like, uh, say, Frank's solo on "Return Britain"!) Normally I'd be beyond embarrassed by "Beating A Dead Horse" (or any of my songs that we used to do), but wow, Hubie and Frank both play some amazing guitar in that song. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is the only version of "Something's Falling Apart" I have.  "Something's Falling Apart" is introduced as a new song but actually I believe it's an older song that we worked up with Frank.  It's a great song! I hope I encounter another version!

Gig trivia: Founding member Ward Regan was actually working the door that night and doing sound!!!!  Maybe I'm mistaken but I seem to remember him breaking up a gnarly fight at this show!

Set two - which featured the debut of "I Owe" - as well as the Skels' sets - is currently missing.
