Remember way back, the "metal" tape?
Well, I flipped over the other side - this has been one of the big highlights of doing these tapes, seeing what's on at the end of a tape, or on the unlabeled side - you find all sorts of stuff! Case in point! This is a dub off the DAT of (what I think is) our first, or one of our first rehearsals at Mystery Fez. It's undated, so I can't tell you exactly when. This flyer makes mention that we're losing our rehearsal space; but I don't remember vacating the Rocky Point house in the winter. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm thinking about when we moved in, which I have a clearer memory of. It may be that Ted & Frank did all the moving out. If that's the case: sorry, guys, I'm sure that was a sucky job!

Ted wrote our newsletters. Now, you'd just post a link, email, do it all on Facebook. We ended up not playing the Woody's show. The WCWP broadcast can be found on the flip side of this cassette, here. |
LOOB is all business in this rehearsal. After tight, concentrated, textbook versions of "Return Britain" (this one track has a a lot of tape drop out, can't be helped) and "I Owe", highlights include us jamming the frick out of "Something's Falling Apart" (12 minutes plus!), the only other version I have found so far, "Gone Strong" (which tragically gets cut after a mere 30 seconds!!!), and a song I completely forgot about, "The Islands". We didn't do that one much, catchy though it was! Also, a version of "Spotlight Shining" that is so fast, you'll think I speeded the tape up.
This is cool listen, no fat at all.
