The All Aboard, March 7, 1992 (2 songs only)

Don't be deceived by the pretty colors.

Let's not mince words: this show wasn't as good as the night before!  At least not the recording!

It was a crowded Saturday night at the All Aboard, 23 years ago tonight, and though you can hear by the applause that there was definitely an audience paying attention, the PZMs were hanging by the bar....and that's what's in the foreground for much of the show!  "Hey, Davey, 'cmere, I want youse to meet my cousin!" Stuff like that.

One of the earliest Lawrence flyers.  Before Lawrence, Ted used to mail out typed newsletters.
On top of that - maybe because they'd just played a smoking show the night before - LOOB sounds a little off their game!  The night before was sheer perfection, we nailed every song.  On this night...not so much.  Hubie has a lot of trouble remembering lyrics, Ted & Mike having a lot of trouble remembering their harmony parts....which isn't so bad since they blow a lot of them when they do remember!  Everyone's voice is gone and it sounds like we might have a crummy monitor mix onstage.

Because listening to this tape is not exactly uplifiting, I was ready to bail on this one!  That is, until I got towards the end of the second set and heard "Return Britain"!  This night's version has a wild, unusual jam that we navigate expertly!  So the night wasn't a total wash!

Hey, everyone has their off nights, and LOOB definitely had their fair share.....but that doesn't mean we have to put them all up online!  If anyone wants the full tape, email me.  Otherwise, let me save these two puppies from the pound, here are the more-than-worthy highlights from this night....in days past we would tag these at the end of the previous night's tape.....so consider this a bonus to the great Lauterbach's show the night before (which you can get here)
