The Lion's Den, November 5, 1992

Been very ill, sorry haven' been able to do much. This one is all ready to go so this is today's post! Sorry "Sailing" fans!  We'll pick up tomorrow!  But in the meantime....enjoy this great tape!

You never know what you're going to get.  The 1992 shows are the most hit-or-miss, but when they hit, they're dazzling.  This has us playing great.  Only listened to it once, but my impression was: you can put this one on and leave it on.  Good set.  Dave Engelhardt is in the audience, we address him a couple of times during the show....even inviting him to the stage to jam on "Gimme Fun"!  We were opening for a band called The Fenwicks; we played the Lion's Den again at the end of the month, I think we opened for them at that date as well.  I seem to remember that one was packed.  This one sounds half-empty.  Of course it's half-empty! Look at how many gigs we were playing in one month!
Maybe we could have skipped the 30-minute showcase gigs at Street Level....even now I feel insulted!!!!!    The venues in NY would get better later in the 90s, when Arlene's Grocery opened.  Don't know why that is!  Back then, we got into this loop of playing the Bleeker Street circuit.
Still, a good show is a good show!  So do enjoy:
